Interesting Times ~ Ancient Curse
Part Four
The Republican Party’s nominee for President, Donald Trump has spent the
week talking about his respect for the President of Russia; Vladimir Putin,
dictator, war criminal, murderer, former KGB agent, Vladimir Putin.
In one speech, in one breath Trump, the T-Rump, will tell his audience
that he “doesn’t really know the guy,” and then tell his audience about what a
strong leader Putin is, and how happy T-Rump is to say something nice about Putin
on account of the nice things that Putin has said about him.
It makes very little sense.
The Republican nominee for President of the United States, is an
unreflective apologist for the criminal and despotic regime of Vladimir Putin.
T-Rump has suggested that his administration would likely recognize the Russian
annexation of the Crimean Peninsula. He has made light of the fact that our
best intelligence analysis indicates that Russian state actors were behind the
cyber-attacks on the Democratic National Committee, in an attempt to influence
our election; suggesting that the democrats are pushing that story and the
Russians are innocent of it. He went on Russian State Television, the
propaganda wing of Putin’s government, and accused the press in the United States
of writing false stories, lying and malfeasance. When confronted with the facts
that Putin has jailed and murdered Russian journalists who have been critical
of him, T-Rump counters with vague suggestions that our own President does the
same kind of things, or worse.
The only possible way to make sense of these things is to see a motive
behind the words, and actions of T-Rump that are in keeping with his life-long
ambitions; the acquisition of wealth. Two things are known about the T-Rump
financial world. T-Rump is a risky investment and his access to capitol from
American and European banks has been severely restricted. He turned to Russian
banks for Financing and he is in debt to them for close to one billion dollars.
The Republican nominee for the office of the President has been bought by
the Russian Government under Vladimir Putin.
The strangest thing I heard all week about T-Rump and Putin was this. The
analysis was given by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. It has to do with T-Rump’s claim
that he says nice things about Putin, only because Putin has said nice things
about him; he asserts that Putin has called him “brilliant”. Putin himself
denies this. T-Rump has boasted that Putin called him “brilliant”, as in highly
intelligent. Putin never did, and has pointedly tried to correct this record, both
in writing, and on air; televised on CNN with Fareed Zakaria.
Putin points out the in the comments he gave whereby T-Rump came to believe
Putin called him “brilliant,” the word he actually used, in Russian, means
bright, not bright as meaning intelligent, but bright meaning colorful, or
flamboyant. That is quite a difference in meaning, but the nuance seems lost on
T-Rump.
